Air Commodore Subhash Chander Luthra VSM took over as Air Officer Commanding (AOC) of 3 Base Repair Depot (3 BRD) Air Force here today. In an impressive handing over ceremony accompanied with ceremonial parade at 3 BRD, Air Commodore Luthra assumed the charge of the Command from Air Commodore RK Srivastava who has been promoted to the rank of air Vice Marshal and posted out to Air Headquarter, New Delhi. Addressing the air warriors on the occasion, the outgoing AOC thanked them for their whole-hearted support in fulfilling the multifarious tasks of 3 BRD during his tenure.
Air Commodore Srivastava also informed them that 3 BRD was likely to be awarded the President’ s Colour in the as case is already with the Air Headquarters.
Air Commodore Srivastava said that construction of new houses under the MAP (Married Accommodation Project), modernisation of hangars & bays and induction of state-of-the-art equipment were some of the steps that have recently been taken at 3BRD. “The station may soon have a Centre for Excellence in Sports as the concept paper has already been accepted by the Maintenance Command,” said Srivastava.
Air Commodore Luthra, who comes here from New Delhi, was commissioned in engineering branch of the Indian Air Force (IAF) on 25 July 1977. During his 30 years of service he has held various important posts including Commanding Officer of a Signal Unit, Senior Engineer (Electronics) of two premier IAF bases, Senior Engineer (Aircraft) of a premier IAF base and Chief Engineer of a fighter base. |
