BY : PTI

The US defence department has evinced keen interest in an indigenous mine-protected vehicle that the army is set to induct for anti-insurgency operations in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Aditya vehicle was developed with know-how from Isreal and will be inducted by the army by November to provide increased protection to troops engaged in counter-terrorism operations. The army has projected a requirement for 1,400 such vehicles and given the green signal to induct 300.

N&S America : Pentagon Sold 1,000 F-14 Parts After Claiming to Stop

BY :foxnews

The Pentagon sold more than a thousand aircraft parts that could be used on F-14 fighter jets — a plane flown only by Iran — after announcing it had halted sales of such surplus, government investigators say.

In a report Wednesday, the Government Accountability Office, the investigative arm of Congress, said the Defense Department had improved security in its surplus program to prevent improper sales of sensitive items.

But investigators found that roughly 1,400 parts that could be used on F-14 "Tomcat" fighter jets were sold to the public in February. That came after the Pentagon announced it had suspended sales of all parts that could be used on the Tomcat while it reviewed security concerns.

United States is deceiving India : Russian media

The above talks and respective media campaign are nothing but a far sighted PR aimed at assisting the main goal – selling F-16I fighters in the expected Indian tender. Claimed sale of the 5th generation technologies is a downright lie.In

India : India's quiet sea power

BY : Sudha Ramachandran (is an independent journalist/researcher based in Bangalore)

India's new listening post in Madagascar has reportedly begun operations. Under construction for more than a year, the monitoring station will provide India with electronic eyes and ears in the southwestern Indian Ocean.

Located in northern Madagascar, the monitoring station "was quietly made operational" in early July, according to a report in The Indian Express. It will be linked with similar facilities in Kochi
and Mumbai "to gather intelligence on foreign navies operating in the region", the report said. Mumbai and Kochi, which are on India's west coast, are headquarters of the Indian Navy's Western and Southern Commands, respectively.

BY: Express News Service

“You learn science by keeping your eyes and ears open and looking around at this world. The real inspiration of science, at least to me, has been essentially the love of nature,” said Dr R R Navalgund, Director of Space Application Centre-Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
