Indian air force looking for new attack helicopters

The Indian air force is considering buying new attack helicopters to boost air surveillance and fighting capabilities. The Asian Age newspaper reported on Thursday that new attack helicopters will be used in high Himalayan region to provide combat air support to the troops , while Indian air force does operate Russian made Mi-25/35 “Hind” attack helicopters ,it still as not be confirmed if this will be a back order of the same Russian made attack helicopters , while indigenous Hal Light combat helicopter (LCH) is taking shape and will be ready for its first flight in 2009 , IAF recently conducted aerial war games to validate these new concepts. Ahluwalia said about 120 to 130 front line fighters including various versions of the MiGs, Sukhois and UAVs participated in the war games, which were conducted in the Himalayas.
